Having Self Respect
It was Feb 2002. I arrived in Ahmadabad on my
way to Madhuban. Dadi Janki ji also arrived in
Lotus house a few hours later and she sat with
us for a chit-chat. Dadiji came from Tamil Nadu
after attending a public meeting. Then she
narrated an incident in Madurai that left us
stunned.
During her stay in Madurai, the divine family
took her to the famous temple of Meenakshi. We
all know how strictly rules are followed in that
temple; only the designated priests who strictly
follow all the religious principles could get in
to the sanctum sanctorum to offer prayers to the
deity. And when Dadiji entered the temple along
with the local BK sisters, the priest looked at
her and invited her to the sanctum sanctorum! He
offered 'arti' to the deity and then offered 'arti'
to Dadiji. Dadii was not surprised; she knew
that it was her memorial, her own non-living
image that was being worshipped. Dadiji narrated
all this in a very casual manner. This made me
understand how much self-respect and faith in
the drama she had. This sanskar plays a very
important role in shaping one's future. Thank
you Dadiji.
Words of Wisdom
Each one of us needs to remain aware and alert
in our self-respect. To remain in your
self-respect, pay attention to keeping a true
heart and a big heart. One who does service with
a true and big heart will serve at every step.
He will remain in his own self-respect no matter
what work he is doing and whether he sees the
return of it or not. Baba knows that such a
child will look after His service as a trustee –
remaining aware that nothing is mine… everything
is His.
Through truth and cleanliness I become an angel
and then a deity. When the mind reaches this
stage, one is able to remain beyond the body and
bodily relations. Then Baba will remain
connected and the atmosphere good.
You can give sakaash when you have the attitude
of unlimited disinterest. If there is the
slightest attachment, you cannot do service. The
vibrations of your attitude spread far and wide.
Be available for whatever service there is -
there is no other happiness. Wherever you are,
there is service. When you say ‘yes’, Baba
becomes present. You need truth and humility for
this. Be egoless, viceless and incorporeal like
Baba - then you will be able to establish the
true kingdom.
Drishti Point
I practice pure vision upon myself. I see myself
as a radiant deity full of spiritual virtues and
light. I see myself as the most elevated of
beings, as God’s pure creation lit with wonder
and exquisite beauty.
Karma Yoga Exercise
As I walk and move through the world of action,
I move in the awareness of being the sacred,
angelic body of light, the one who purifies the
elements and the hearts of every soul upon the
planet.
